Self taught wood designer Bill
Luke designs and builds
most of his own creations.
Although he has been working
with wood for years, it was in
the early 1990’s he turned
his basement into his wood
shop. In no time at all, he
outgrew his small basement and
worked in a portion
of his garage.
In 2004 he
built a new Wood Shop in his backyard.
It consists of his material holding area, work bench, staining room and
beautiful showroom to house his finished projects. He uses all types of wood but prefers working
with oak and pine. He is well known for
measuring spaces that his masterpieces will fit and creating his own original
design. Bill has never formally been
trained in woodworking, but his free spirited approach to the craft sets him
apart.
Many of my
projects consist of different kinds of
things such as shelves, gun cabinets with or without lights, entertainment
centers, curio cabinets, armoires, coat racks with or without mirrors, toy
chests, hope chests, garbage can storage, shadow boxes, coffee tables,
children’s tables and chairs, rockers, quilt chest, keepsake tables, bedroom
sets with dressers, chest of drawers, night stands and the latest venture of
caskets for adults & children, and
urns. Helping with the finishing touches
is my wife Sandy, whom does all the sewing of the casket linings.
